Reading Music Festival is the world’s oldest popular music festival still in existence. Held annually in the town of Reading, England, this year’s event was attended by over 80,000 people.
I photographed the festival for the very cool bunch of people at Festival Annual. They publish a yearly anthology of music festivals around the British isles; a genius view into the UK’s Music Festival subculture. This is where a lot of music, entertainment and fashion trends emerge. This is where many an adolescent story to be told, but the pictures speak for themselves in that regard. There’s over 40 of my images in the book, it’s available here and if you use promo code ‘FELIX’ during checkout, you get a nice little discount. It makes a great christmas present for anyone who loves music, concerts, gigs or festivals.
Below a sampling of some of my images, much more in the book.

The book:

The back cover of the book includes one of my images (the centre one) as well as some gorgeous double page spreads of some of my images:

The individual pages are very nicely laid out, each with a theme that shows a specific aspect of the festival.
The book also features Reading photography by my friend Oscar May as well as coverage of all the other major music festivals in the country.

We shot this editorial in Malibu, California in March with Kerri Kasem and Ashley Marriott of The K-Pod, a very cool podcast. It’s now a major feature in H Magazine, a glossy mag popular in LA and New York. We shot this in a beautiful meadow in Malibu, with a great crew. I had come [...]

It’s only fashion but I like it. I flew to Denmark for the second time in 2 months to cover Copenhagen Fashion Week for Getty Images and Wireimage. There’s something incredibly clean and crisp about Nordic design – I’m drawn to it. The Danes and their scandinavian companions tend to pull off some interesting shows, [...]

My recent efforts have been in the area of doing documentary style photography like my projects in Haiti and coverage of the Roskilde Music Festival while also developing what I am doing in the field of portraiture. This is a little showcase of some of the work over the last few months. This doesn’t include [...]

I went to Denmark to cover the amazing 40th Roskilde Music Festival. Roskilde is a small town 1/2 hour outside of Copenhagen. The festival is held on a farm that is repurposed for the festival. As one of Europe’s top three festivals, attended by over 110,000 people, Roskilde has a reputation for a laid back attitude of [...]

This one was a lot of fun. We rode on Amy’s wave-runner to get to a small Island in the intercoastal waterway off Clearwater Beach. and shot there using the awesome gnarled old tree.

This was such a lovely family to shoot. The wonderful dynamic of the family really shows in these – I can’t help but smile when I look at these photos. These were shot on Clearwater Beach, Florda with available light and a reflector.

Oh, the marvels of Twitter. I’ve professed my love for the micro-blogging service on several occasions and have turned many people into addicts. Twitter connects me with people that I would otherwise not connect with, in a way that is somewhat impersonal yet personable at the same time. A few weeks ago I was tweeted [...]

My recent trip to Haiti was all about documenting the amazing work at the Future of Haiti Orphanage. Future of Haiti was set up shortly after the earthquake when it became apparent that there were 100s of kids roaming the streets with no one feeding them, no medical attention and no shelter. Their work really [...]
